Eight Chinese medicine universities were removed from the World Medical Schools Directory

We got news today that on November 1, 2019, the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME), managed by the World Health Organization (WHO), will delete eight Chinese universities of traditional Chinese medicine from the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDoMS). They are:

1. Beijing University of Chinese Medicine

2. Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine

3. Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine

4. Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine

5. Guizhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine

6. Shanxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine

7. Heilongjiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine

8. Yunnan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine

According to a source (@芋头microwave), the reason for being delisted is that WDoMS believes that graduates with a medical degree in traditional Chinese medicine cannot directly enter clinical work, and the organization that provides this basis is the Clinical Medicine Professional Certification Committee of the Ministry of Education.

At present, the only traditional Chinese medicine schools included in the capital area are the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, Beijing College of Acupuncture and Orthopedics, and Capital Medical University School of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and there are only 20 schools left in the country.

However, Beijing College of Acupuncture and Orthopedics has already merged with Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, and the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences only recognizes graduates before 1999. In other words, now only TCM graduates from Shougang Medical University in Beijing can gain world recognition.

The delisting of eight universities of traditional Chinese medicine means that international medical students from these schools will not be recognized when they return to China after graduation and will not be able to carry out medical activities. Similarly, medical students who graduate from these schools cannot use their diplomas to obtain medical licenses in Western countries, and the spread of traditional Chinese medicine overseas will be greatly hindered.

The attack on traditional medicine is a way for Western countries to protect themselves. On the one hand, they continue to strengthen the exploration and research of traditional Chinese medicine. On the other hand, they use various means to infiltrate and win over the Chinese elite and create various negative remarks about traditional Chinese medicine in the country, in an attempt to lead us to the path of self-destruction.

I hate the evil of traditional Chinese medicine and am always fighting on the front line. I hate even more that the disunity in the industry is ineffective and allows the enemy to cause so much harm to us.

(World Federation for Medical Education, WFME) (The World Directory of Medical Schools, WDoMS)中删除。
