Why have there been so many cases like this recently? It seems the problem has been festering for far too long. The #MeToo movement came to China far too late!
In early August, someone in our internal student group at the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences claimed that Liang Dong of Shandong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine had sexually assaulted his own student — and then had the audacity to turn the tables and play the victim. His conduct was despicable.
I initially didn’t want to get involved. The Master Xuecheng scandal had already left me deeply unsettled, and I felt there was no point in dwelling on such incidents.
But the reactions from my fellow students were baffling. Surprisingly many believed that if the allegations were true, simply firing him and ruining his reputation would be enough. A few even cited the Chen Xiaowu case, arguing that since Professor Chen was a talented man, it was somewhat understandable if he had “crossed the line” with female students — after all, they reasoned, he was still better than those with neither talent nor character. The majority simply preferred to look the other way.
When I pressed them privately, they actually said this had nothing to do with them — that the little guy couldn’t fight the system anyway, so they might as well just watch the spectacle unfold.
What kind of attitude is this? Lu Xun must be spinning in his grave.

According to my research, Qiu Yingran was admitted to Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2009 for a seven-year combined bachelor’s-master’s program. In 2014, she began working under Liang Dong on her master’s thesis in traditional Chinese surgery, graduating in 2016. At that time, Comrade Liang Dong held an associate senior title, but in recent years he has been promoted to full professor — a doctoral supervisor at Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and a chief physician at Shandong Provincial Hospital of TCM.
After Qiu Yingran came forward in early August, she received virtually no substantive response. Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine issued a brief statement on its official Weibo account, and Liang Dong was reportedly suspended pending investigation.
I can clearly sense that the university’s handling of this matter has been far from proactive. They only posted a statement on their WeChat public account — a Baidu search turns up almost nothing, and neither the university’s nor the hospital’s website shows any relevant information. This speaks to a fundamental lack of seriousness.
Second, it has been ten days since the incident came to light, yet there has been no visible progress. Many people online have had their posts deleted or been asked to remove them. The situation has been effectively contained and has failed to gain further traction.
Third, many online comments have struck a strange tone — their implication being that everyone already knew about this. What does “already knew” mean? Is this an open secret at Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine?

最近这种事情怎么这么多，看来是积重难返，me too科普出现的太晚了！！！
8月初，在我们中研学生内部的群里，有人说山东省中医院的梁栋性侵自己的学生，甚至还倒打一耙，行径恶劣。
我最初没想理这事，学诚法师的事件已经让我很不安了，净关注这种事干什么。
但是，群里同学的反应令人不解，居然有很多同学认为如果确有此事，开除了就完了，名声扫地就可以了，还有个别同学居然抬出了陈小武事件，认为陈老师既然是有才能的人，对女学生有点那啥也是可以的，总比那些没才没德的强。更多的是不愿发生的，我在私底下去追问，他们居然认为此事跟自己没关系，胳膊也拗不过大腿，看看热闹就行了。
这是一种什么行为？鲁迅先生的棺材板估计早飞了吧？

据我查证，仇英燃2009年考入山东中医药大学本硕连读七年制，14年跟随梁栋做中医外科学硕士论文，2016年毕业，当时梁栋同志还是副高，这几年已经升任正高级，为山东中医药大学教授，硕士生导师，山东省中医院主任医师。
仇英燃同学于8月初披露此事后，基本没有得到正面回应，山东中医药大学于官方微博发布了简短的声明，梁栋同志据说被暂时停职。
我明显感觉到，山东中医药大学对此事的处理非常不积极，只是在微信公众号上发布了声明，百度检索基本查不到，山东中医药大学和山东省中医院的网站上都看不到相关信息，这是态度不端正。
其二，事发至此已有十日，没有看到事态进展，网络上很多人被删帖或被要求删帖，事态发展已经被控制住，没有继续发酵。
第三，许多人在网络上的言论很奇怪，话里话外的意思是这事大家早就知道了。早就知道了是什么意思，山中医的潜规则么？
